Road Book

This section is entirely dedicated to your best friend “The Road Book” whenever you participate in a rally.

What is a Road Book?

A Road Book is supposedly known as your best friend whenever you participate in a road rally. Basically it is the diagrammatic representation of the rally route using ball and arrow system.

Every competitor must religiously follow the instructions given on the road book.

The golden rule is STAY ON THE ROAD YOU ARE ON UNTIL THE ROAD BOOK TELLS YOU TO TURN OFF. i.e straight on at crossroads, follow through villages etc.

A sample road book is given just to show that how does it look like.

A general road book contains the following points

  1. Instruction Number : A number is given to all the instructions mentioned in the road book for an easy reference.
  2. Main Reading : In each instruction number box , there is one reading mentioned which is the main reading with reference to the start of the stage.
  3. Differential Reading : A differential reading is mentioned in each instruction box which shows the difference between the previous instruction reading and the current instruction reading.
  4. Directions and Symbols : A box against each instruction box is made in order to mention the ball and arrow diagrams to represent each direction.
  5. Comments  : Comments against each instruction are in order to give any caution or to mention the landmarks or special instructions.

The keys to win any TSD rally are; follow the road book precisely and maintain the given average speed.

The most important thing to remember is that these events are fun! So relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery and a healthy competition of your fellow competitors.
